We love our community! Our out reach efforts are detailed here with ANNA CARES - Community and Resources, Education and Services

School Visits

This great program is geared for school age children.  Representatives from the shelter (both two and four legged) visit the school for a fun filled educational talk on the shelter's purpose and mission; animal safety and being kind to animals.  Activity books are provided as well as interactive time with the animals and staff.  This program also works well with our fund raising/needs effort.  Give us a call or email for details and to get your classroom scheduled!

Food Pantry

We have a food bank for those pet owners that may need some help providing their beloved pets food when times get tough.  Because we are so blessed with generous donations to feed the animals in our care we are able to help out those members of our community that may need us.  You must register for the food bank at the shelter to receive a voucher for food.  Food bank is limited to the amount of food available at any given time.

Hours are Saturdays from 10am - 1pm ONLY.

Senior Visits

Members of our staff and those pets that pass our good citizen test visit local nursing homes for some great pet therapy.  This program is a lot of fun and very rewarding for both the animals and the residents.

If you're interested in having us come to your facility please give us a call or send us an email!

Volunteer Programs/Opportunities

We'd like to thank the group from the Villa Softball Team who helped with some projects at the shelter.  The boys and their coach came in and helped paint some new kennel walls and store over 300 blankets donated to the shelter!  They were a great help and seemed to enjoy their time at the shelter!  Thanks, guys!

If your group is interested in helping us tackle some bigger projects and events - please contact Ruth at the shelter.  Thanks!
