If you're considering adoption or if you would like to place an animal with our program there are a few things you need to know.

 Surrendering An Animal

• All intakes are done by appointment only. 
• An intake fee will be determined before the appointment.  Average fees are $25-$50 depending on the amount of veterinary care your pet has received.
• We may not be able to accomodate every animal at any given time.  Although every effort is made to take in as many animals as possible, this is not always feasible.  Please be patient with your requests.  We must put the interest of the animals first.  Overcrowding is not an option.
• Only adoptable animals are accepted into our adoption program.  If  your pet has incurable health issues, is a senior pet or has tempermant/behavior issues he/she may not be fit for our program.  We can discuss that with you at the time of your initial consultation.
• There is no time limit for an animal in our program.  So long as the animal is adoptable - it will remain at the shelter until we find it's forever home.

We are a private non-profit shelter and do the best we can with limited resources.  We ask for your understanding with our policies and your compliance.  The best interest of the animals is what we have in mind.

Adoption Informatin

• We do allow out of the area adoptions - however you must come to the shelter for the adoption.  We do not ship our pets - adoption requires a face to face interview with a member of our staff and your personal interaction with the animal.  There are no exceptions to this rule.  It is important for us to meet you here.
•  A free office visit is offered through our vet - information provided at time of adoption. 
• Adoption fees vary from $25 - $200.  Fees are listed by each individual animal. 
• If the animal is not altered prior to adoption a deposit is taken on the surgery.  The minimum deposit is $30 and is determined for each individual animal.
• You will have 1 month to have the surgery performed to recieve your deposit back.  Those who do not follow through will have the adoption revoked.  A free office visit is offered through our vet - information provided at time of adoption.
• Each pet adopted at the shelter comes with a 45 day pet insurance policy.  Details available at the shelter or on the Shelter Care Link Page.
